Old friends.

I talked to an old friend... and suprisingly it was amazing... I also found my old journal and something i wrote 5 YEARS AGO!

Isnt that Crazy. Here is a picture of what i thought would be the last DLD show.

So long. It was good while it lasted. 7.20.2003
“Here we are again, lets give this one more try.” My Journal kind of took a leaf of absence. I kind of didn’t feel like writing in it until the show ended. Well friends and family, I couldn’t have asked for a better end. It was an amazing show. There was so many people that made it what it is, and DLD what it was. Things will change, I know. I was afraid to embrace the change, but I know that if I put my hand in those offered to me, I will be fine. DLD would not be anything without friends. We have the best friends in the world! It is the coolest thing to see you guys getting into the music. It is indescribable. I know that we are all a lot closer then it may seem to someone who hasn’t shared what we have. I feel so close to you. I love you guys and thanks so much for singing along. It does mean the world to me. I know that Ken, Stu and I have promised to try harder. You will defiantly here more from us. We are going to try harder then we have ever tried before. I know that we can make it with friends like you. Its just the best feeling in the world, to know that I am blessed so much. I wish I could talk to each and every person at the show. So if you were there and I didn’t get to talk to you… my AIM name is “xcomebkfromcalix”. Please talk to me!!! I would like to thank you for coming. I love you all. Make things happen.

WHERE DID THE DLD FAMILY GO?!

20 hours deep

heyy this is dan! chillin here at jases house here in washington, just about to leave for our 2nd show of our tour.

MISS YOU JASE!!!

Kevin

A beginning of an awkward friendship or so it would be if this were my first time meeting Kevin. However this is not the case. I first met Kevin at a Stake Activity. Jason and Kevin both were in the same ward. I knew Jason and Thus, this is how I met him.
Kevin is the greatest guy I have ever met and he is in every sense a Beast! He is funny and hard working. He is always willing to give. One very fond memory I have of him is when he was getting ready for a Date with Rachael he put on the best clothes. At this point I had never seen him dress so nice just for a girl. Before this date He wanted take a ride (by himself) in the canoe.About 20 min before his date he moves the canoe on the edges before between the water and the grass. He gets in the canoe and tried sliding into the water but instead the canoe tipped and he fell in the water. his nice clothes got all wet. that was a very funny moment. I miss Kevin. I haven't seen him in a while.

Peru: The craziness.

Here's a couple pics/stories attesting to the craziness of Peru:

asdf

This is a taxi I was in on my way to Huancayo. The driver had only been driving a few weeks, hence the accident. We spun out of control on a road that lined the top of a cliff/steep hill. The car did a 180 and stopped finally with the tires literally suspended in mid air and all that was keeping it from tumbling down the hill was that blessed rock pinned in its side.

llama

This was taken on my way to a town called Huancavelica. We had every seat filled in the 5 seat taxi, plus all my luggage filling the trunk space. One thing about Peruvians is they don't pass up opportunities to make a little more money, which is understandable. When the taxi driver saw two people and a llama on the side of the road he pulled over to pick them up. I wondered where he was going to put them since we already had a full car. No problem. One person rode up front, doubled up with another person in the passenger seat. My bags got rearranged and the llama got shoved up against them; and the other guy squeezed in back straddling the llama with his legs and holding the llamas head next to his. The driver slammed the trunk door and made 20 extra soles.

i heart peru ,

Los Carnivales.

Here is a link to an mp3 of me Jamming with one of my friends here and his group. The recording is so-so because i took it with my cell phone, but this can give you kind of a general idea. This is Folklore music from Peru. There is about 15 people here in a room just jamming. It was SOO powerful, and an amazing experience for me. Music is amazing! They kind of reminded me of Sufjan Stevens. Let me know what you think. Miss yalllllssss.

its the end of an era!

I just thought I would like to mention that I miss being in touch with reality. I have been consumed by school and work and sometimes forget that real things are happening to real people in my real life. Last Tuesday was my birthday, however, and I felt blessed and loved by so many. Also, in one more week I will officially be a college graduate. How scary D:

I invite all of you who are reading this lovely little blog of Jason's to share any hopes and dreams, or on the opposing end, anything that is scaring the crap out of you. Mine are one in the same: starting real life.

Testing The Strong Ones

Sooo... I am the guy in charge of the money of the mission. We have our share of emergencies, but we have even more emergencies that are health related. My companion is the one in charge of health for the mission so I spend a good time of my time in the hospital.

This last weekend one of my best friends here... Elder Petersen got sick, so it was our run to help him! He had a weird asma attack thing where he couldn't breathe very well. We took him in to the hospital and they said that he needed to stay overnight so that they could help him breathe.

I stayed with him through the night, but I started to pretend that I was sick too so he wasn't so lonely. I got one of those cool white robes and even stayed in the bed next to him. Everyone thought I was sick but they were really wrong.

I had fun fooling them and keeping a good friend company. Luckily he is doing better. He has to leave where he was working before because they burned so much sugar cane and it killed his lungs.... They moved him to work in the office with me!

HOLLLLLERERRRRRR T-BONE

Its SOOO nice to have a body!

The Blue Tie.

Holler. This is a picture of me and my last companion. His name is Elder Meredith. We freaking owned it. He was a great companion because he would always cook for me and help when i was busy with the humans. He is about to go to his house, and he will be missed.

Don't forget your sandwiches!
