First Sounds....

Today I went down and bought some recording equipment. I totally splurged... jk but I did get some stuff to at least start recording. Here is what i ended up with about 1 hour of time... its simple, its short, and its a start. Here it is if anyone cares to listen. Much much more to come!

This song is a song for you SOMBRA DE LA LUNA

Jazzy Lovers

The last night we had a cake night in the chapel and it was amazing! There were over 100 humans just screaming and shouting and playing games. The winners would get cakes... its like a super cake walk peruvian style. It was so funny. I even played.... bobbing for apples.

1. Bobbing for apples
2. 3 Legged soccer
3. Top the balloons filled with flour with your mouth
4. Break the box open.

My favorite game was the 3 legged soccer... they love soccer here and were kicking it all over, knocking pictures down and little kids. It was amazing. Everyone was laughing so hard.

Here are some pics and al final... some sound recordings of the madness. PERU IS THE BEST!

The Key Master...

This man is a champion of keys. He can copy your key with this little hand-spun machine in 50 seconds. The best part about it is it only costs 50 cents.... I really don't think you can beat that.

I have like 10 copys of my keys, just cause i like to watch him..... maaazing

Just so you know...

Megadeath is coming to Lima for the first time.....

That kind of caught me off guard, what do you say?

In 16 days I will be on a plane to Seattle, WA. In 17 days I will be at the household of Jason Call. And if the stars align that night, in 18 days I will be having a picnic with Sir Mix-A-Lot. haha!

Can't wait :)

I finally tried it. Peru is famous for many different plates and Ceviche is probably one of the top 3. Up until the other day I had not tried it, but I finally went down and got a taste!

Ceviche is raw fish marinated in Tigers Milk... or onion and lemon. It is amazing! The myth is that marinating the raw fish in the Tigers Milk will actually cooks the fish by the time you eat it. It sounded crazy to me, but... i didnt get sick. It was amazing. If you want to read more check out this.

It was absolutely amazing. >I am going to learn how to make it so I can make it for all of you when i get home....

Hello friends and friends of Juice!

Apple finally released the 3G iPhone last friday, as most of you already know. So Jason asked me to make a little blog about my adventures trying to get one.

So friday morning I woke up at about 7 am and went straight for the nearest ATT store to line up for the phone. When I arrived there were about 100 people already in line, most people had been waiting since 5 am. I waited for about 2 hours and kablam they sold out.

The only thing I could do now was to go to an Apple store and try my luck there. When I got to the store there was a sea of people in line.. I was told from where I was (the very last person in line) an 8 hour wait.. but If I came back around 8pm that it would be pretty clear. Came back around 9 and they told me that they cut off the line and that I had to come back tomorrow. POOPS!

Came back the next morning at 8:30 and waited.. and waited.. and waited.. for 4 hours! Thankfully they bought pizza for all the people who were in line so we wouldnt die waiting. When I got to the front of line It felt like graduation all over again. They sent out an apple employee and she asked "are you ready to purchase your iphone?", I nodded and then Pomp and Circumstance played in my head. There was a group of apple employees waiting infront of the door and they applaud you as you walk in. Got in and got out.

So that's my story. Sorry if that wasn't very exciting, haha.

musical education.

People just don't listen to enough classical music. Its some of the most amazing music you'll ever hear thats older than your grandma. I mean, look at the spice girls. They went out of style in what, 2002? Six years, and no one listens to their music anymore, yet at their peak, nearly everyone under the age of 15 was in love. Classical music- renaissance from the 1500s (renaissance chamber KILLS), Bach & Vivaldi from the 1600 & 1700s, the Wolf & Haydn & Schubert from 17-1800s (called the classical period of classical music); look how long it's lasted! yeah, sueann, thats old stuff. Only YOU listen to it, right? I know its what you're thinking. That's fine.

So you know the song Sundays, the Daphne one? Theres a line in it, "you enjoy coffee and Debussy". DEBUSSY ISN'T A TYPE OF JAM FOR YOUR SCONE. Claude Debussy, the greatest composer to ever touch a piano. Just ask the Peruvians who were lucky enough to walk near Jason's window earlier today.

Go download. I promise you'll enjoy it.
debussy, ravel & a little bit of dukas.

Old Discography.

Here is a link to the songs i wrote after i quit daphne. I am working on my Peru stuff now. Its chill like a starey night in the Andy mountains.

the bear dream.

Just because Jason is in Peru doesn't mean that he isn't still around. Proof of this statement? A couple nights ago, he was in my dream. YES, OUR BELOVED JASON D CALL, the original Mister Peru, was drifting casually in my mind, like an oneironaut (its a real word. google it!).

The dream:
Jason and I had gone camping, which is odd because a) I've only been camping once in my life, b) I had the stomach flu and c) I don't remember the trip. Sometime during this trip, we went into a cave to hide from bears. The cave was dark and wet, but somehow, I could still see Jason. Then the weirdness began. Apparently, the bears were attracted to saliva, and if you're hiding from a bear who wants to rip your insides out, you don't want to be covered in saliva. TELL THAT TO DREAM JASON. He kept licking my face and ears and despite my pleas, he wouldn't stop. I eventually got him to start licking rocks instead, but every time he'd lick a rock, he would shove it in my purse without telling me. Okay, stop a second, the purse deal; not just any purse, but my $1400 Fendi spy tote. Not exactly something I want saliva covered, killer bear attracting rocks in. Eventually, we were able to leave the cave, but as we were walking away, a cub started to follow us. I was freaking out and yelling at Jason, screaming about this baby monster chasing us, and he yelled, "IT WANTS YOUR PURSE!" I didn't understand, because why would a bear want a purse, and I was hysterical from crying. I didn't want to die.

That's the end of the dream. I'm sure everyone has had a Jason dream at some point, whether he's attracting killer bears to your hiding spot, making you dinner or just sitting on your kitchen floor playing guitar with your grandma's dead cat. In the end, we all miss you, Jason, and can't wait for you to come back.

The 4th in The Peru

Hey everyone. The day was surprisingly better then i thought it would be. We didnt have fireworks... but we did have great food and each other... isnt this what life is a bout?

This was my last 4th away from home! Its all downhill from here!

Later Lovers

independence day

Do you remember Will Smith's movie, Independence Day? That movie was so bad a.

In any case, I hope all you fellow Americans had a Happy 4th! I spent my night driving around looking for a place to park and walked probably 1.5 miles to get to the park to lay down and watch the intense fireworks show. It was so lovely.

I wish you were here to see it, Jason!

The rest of my night consisted of playing Spoons (9 players and 2 spoons- losers drink = bad idea but hysterical for us designated drivers of the night) and a rather disturbing round of Would You Rather...? OH and I also played with the awesome puppies outside. I basically walked out back and got attacked by two drool monsters- a big golden retriever and a beagle (who I first met as a pup and now he's so huge!). I love dogs. They're so precious.

And to close this rather random, and possibly useless entry.. what did you do this holiday? Or tell me some of your favorite 4th of July memories. okayyyyy GO!

Ok... so i got a little sick... big deal. I am back babes. Holler Holler. ITs a beautiful day in Truillo wich means... COCKFIGHTS. For those of you who dont know what a cockfight is.... click this one.

Today the humans were out training and fighting their cocks. It is a national pastime here and can get pretty intense. It sure isnt a easy life.

Here is one of the greatest around.
